13 Bear Craft For Kids
13 Bear Craft For Kids
Bears are one of the cutest animals out there, especially for kids. They’re big and cuddly looking, which makes them irresistible to children who love to snuggle any soft thing they can find.
It’s been a hectic year for everyone, so you may not feel like you have enough energy for crafting with your kids. However, doing an activity together is a wonderful way to spend time as a family and make special memories with your children.
I’m passionate about creating crafts and activities that will please both parents and their little ones, so I’ve put together 13 fun bear craft ideas that are perfect for all ages!
Cupcake Liner Bear Craft
Materials, Bear patterned paper (or use a bear stencil and paint the background)
Scissors
Glue stick or glue gun
Paint (optional)
How to make it,
Cut out your bear shape from the patterned paper. If you are using a stencil, paint on the background color first, then cut out your bears with scissors or an X-acto knife.
Place glue around the edges of each cupcake liner before pressing it onto one side of your bear to create his face and arms/legs
Let dry!
Optional painting steps can be added here if desired! You could also use markers or stickers to decorate them instead of painting them directly onto cardboard if you prefer not to have messy hands from crafting )
Once dried completely bend arms/legs at knees so they will stand upright when placed flat against something like a tabletop for display purposes 6. You’re done! Now watch how excited kids get when they see these cute little animals made by their friends who were inspired by all things “bear” this Halloween season
Paper Plate Bear Craft
This is a great craft for kids of all ages. It’s super simple to make and even easier to clean up! You can use paint, markers, crayons, stickers, and glitter to decorate your bear.
You can also add pipe cleaners for arms or sticks from the yard for legs. You can even add buttons or sequins for eyes!
Feathers are another fun option that you could use as a nose or wings on your bear. Even beads look good on him! This project is really up to you and what you have around the house!
Scrunched Up Bears
Materials, Paper towels
Glue
Pipe cleaners (optional)
What to do.
Fold the paper towel in half to create a bear shape. Repeat with as many paper towels as you like, using different colored ones for each fold of the bear. You’ll need one sheet for each finger, so if you’re making a three-fingered bear, use three sheets of paper towel. If you’re making a five-fingered bear, use five sheets of paper towel; keep going until you have enough bears!
Glue pipe cleaners onto the middle of your folded bears’ feet—this will make them stand up on their own after drying overnight or longer (the glue needs time set).
Optionally paint faces on with glue or felt markers and add eyes, nose, and mouth before they dry completely so that they’re more durable than just drawing them on directly with pen ink which might smudge when wet again later down the line due to humidity changes outdoors during rainy seasons where children play outside often during summer months.”
Paper Towel Tube Polar Bear Craft
Materials
- paper towel roll
- glue
- scissors
- straw
- pieces of colored paper (for the bear’s ear and nose)
- tape (optional)
Materials for optional embellishments:
- markers for the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Materials for optional decorations:
- paint and a paintbrush to decorate your polar bear with colorful stripes! You can also use an iron-on transfer if you want to make a T-shirt or sweatshirt with this design on it!
Black Glue Teddy Bear Painting
This is a very simple craft for kids to paint on their own. You will need.
- Black paint
- Glue
- Paper plates, cups, and paintbrushes (to be used with the glue)
- Cotton balls or tissues (for cleaning up spills)
- Cardboard (for painting on) or craft foam (for cutting out shapes)
Pipe Cleaner Bears
Pipe cleaners are fun to use, and they can be used to make bears. But that’s not all! Pipe cleaners can also be used for other things.
For example, pipe cleaners can be reused if you want to recycle them or simply if you want to make more bears with them later on in the same day.
If you have a large collection of pipe cleaners and don’t know what else to do with them, try using one as an antenna on your bear’s head!
You can also use these multi-purpose craft supplies in place of yarn when making stuffed animals (for example, this pattern uses two strands of pipe cleaner instead of wool).
Balloon Bear Craft
To make this bear craft for kids, you’ll need.
A balloon. You can use any color you like, but I prefer to use a white one since it will be easier to write on.
Tape. I usually use tape that is sticky enough to hold the paper on, but not too sticky that it tears when you pull it off at the end of your project (although sometimes this might happen anyway). If you want an even more permanent option, try double-sided tape!
Paper. Any kind of scrap paper will do–cardboard works great! Just make sure that when folded in half and taped down onto your balloon with some glue or tape don’t leave any blank space between them so they can be easily seen from both sides when finished.
Markers or crayons are optional–if used carefully with adult supervision there shouldn’t be any problem using these materials safely around children under age 10 or so depending on maturity level etc., especially if using construction paper as opposed to colored cardstock which tends not only cost more but also often contain lead (which isn’t good for little ones).
Handprint Bears
Paint, Using a paint roller, paint your child’s hand on a piece of paper. This can be done with any color you like!
Let it dry and then hang it up in their room or keep it safe in an album.
Stencils.
If the above method doesn’t appeal to you, try using some stencils instead! You can buy them at any craft store or online, or make one yourself out of cardboard if you want something custom-made for your little one.
There are many different styles available for every age group, so choose wisely before beginning this project!
