7 Fun Easy Activities For 7-Year-Olds

The world is a wonderful place to explore, and so is your home. My 7-year-old nephew has been very excited about discovering things around him. Learning is one of the most important things we can do as humans.

And it’s equally important that we help our children learn, too! As parents, we want to give our children the best life possible. When my sister had Aaron (my nephew), I was in awe of how much he wanted to know about everything going on around him.

He would touch things and ask what they were called and how they worked. I was curious about what kinds of adventures he would go on when he got older. So I put together this list of fun activities for kids around 7 years old:

Visit A Museum

A museum is a great place for children to learn about the past, present, and future in a fun way. As you plan your museum visit be sure to consider.

What type of museum would be best? There are many different types from art museums, natural history museums, and science museums. Each one has its own focus so you may want to check out some before choosing which one suits your child’s interests best.

How much time do we have? You’ll want to allow plenty of time since it can take up to an hour just to walk through an exhibit and read everything there is on display. If you don’t have enough time then choose wisely what exhibits interest you most or pick only one or two things that will fill up most of your day at this particular location.

What do we need while there? Bring water bottles or snacks if necessary (this depends on how long your visit will be), sun block in summer months if applicable (again depending on time spent outdoors)

Play Outside

Children are so used to being indoors, that it’s important for them to get out of the house and away from screens. The great outdoors is a wonderful place for them to develop physically and mentally, as well as socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

It can be hard now that we’re living in cities with flat roofs or apartments where you don’t have much room for a swing set or tree house—but there are still places you can take your child if you want them to play outside more often: parks!

There are also lots of other options: local lakes/rivers (make sure they’re safe), community pools (the YMCA has really nice facilities), and even playgrounds at schools can be great options if it’s not too hot outside yet during the summer months when school isn’t in session!

Do Some Baking And Decorate Their Work

Baking is a great way to get your child involved in the kitchen, which is important for establishing healthy eating habits. They can help measure and mix ingredients, stir, pour, and bake!

Baking also teaches them the importance of following directions. You may need to remind them not to touch or taste anything until it’s been cooked or cooled down first—and then make sure they wash their hands after they’re done helping!

When you make something together like baking cupcakes or sugar cookies, you’ll be teaching them math skills (how many cups of flour do we need?) as well as fine motor skills (pouring batter into cupcake liners).

Go On A Road Trip

A road trip can be a fun and easy way to get out of the house and enjoy some time with your child. You don’t have to go far or even plan anything, but it can be fun to explore new places together. Here are some simple ideas.

Stop at an interesting place along the way. The next time you’re driving on a road trip, stop at an interesting landmark that catches your eye. If there is one nearby, pull over and take in its beauty for a few minutes before continuing on your way again.

Eat lunch somewhere different from home! It’s always more exciting when eating out means trying something new instead of going back to familiar territory; this is true whether you’re 7 years old or 70 years old! Try stopping at an outdoor cafe by a lake or river where kids can play while parents eat their sandwiches–it’s sure not like any other time in your life (unless you’ve already done this).

Play in parks along the way! Grabbing some fresh air while active will make everyone feel better about what they’re doing–and who knows? It might just lead them into thinking they want more adventures like these in their future lives!

Take Pictures Of Nature And Animals

You can take pictures of anything you like, but it is a great idea to focus on things in your area that you’re interested in.

For example, if you love animals, go into your backyard and take pictures of the different types of plants or insects that live there. If there’s a pond nearby, spend some time taking photos of birds swimming around on the surface or fish swimming underwater.

You’ll be surprised how many details are hiding right under your nose.

Have A Picnic In The Park

Make a picnic.

Choose a park that’s close to home, or somewhere you’ve never been before.

It should have lots of grass and trees, but not too many people (you don’t want to be stuck in the same section of the park as everyone else!). You’ll want good weather too—no rain!

Pack food and snacks that can be eaten outside: sandwiches, fruits, veggies, cookies! If you’re going on a longer trip at night or during colder months when it could get dark early then pack some candles so you can still see how pretty your meal looks in the moonlight.

Bring blankets for both sitting on and covering up with if it gets chilly at night time when people might bring out their flashlights because having fun doesn’t always mean being comfortable all day long which is why we love being outdoors even though sometimes things happen like sunburns happen sometimes which is why we need sunscreen!

Learn To Play An Instrument

Not only is music a great way to learn new skills, but it’s also an excellent way to engage in an activity that you can do with other people.

You can learn to play a musical instrument or sing, dance, play sports and games like hockey or soccer, cook food for yourself and others… the list goes on!

The benefits of learning a musical instrument include improved memory and concentration skills. It also helps develop creativity and self-expression as well as improve physical coordination by developing fine motor skills (playing the instrument).

Children need lots of activities to keep them interested and engaged and learning.

Children need lots of activities to keep them interested and engaged and learning. Children love new things, and they are eager to learn as much as they can about the world around them.

Children need to be engaged in activities that are fun and educational, but they also need to be given opportunities to explore their own interests, build upon what they already know, or learn new skills.

A good balance of challenging play with more child-directed play will help your child develop the social skills needed for school success while still keeping your child engaged in fun activities!

Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed these tips on things to do with your seven year old. These are just a few ideas and there are many more out there. The most important thing is that you spend time together as a family and create memories while they’re young enough to remember them!
