7 Number Craft For Kids

If you’re looking for some fun number crafts for kids, then this post is for you!

These projects are easy to do at home and will give your child some valuable fine motor skills.

Paper Plate Clock

Cut a small hole in the center of your paper plate.

  • Fold up both sides of your paper plate, so that they’re flush with each other and create a rim around the edge of the plate.
  • Trace both circles onto your craft foam (or another material) and cut them out with a craft knife or scissors, being careful not to cut yourself!
  • Glue these circular shapes onto the outside of each half of your clock face, then use tape to secure them in place (you can also staple them if you have an adult’s help). If you want to hang it on a wall, use tacks or push pins instead!

DIY Number Stamps

Here’s how to make your own number stamps

  • Cut a sponge into 1-inch cubes. You might need to cut the top off of some sponges so that they fit in the jar, but it doesn’t matter if they look a bit messy!
  • Pour the paint into each cube and let them dry overnight (or longer).
  • When the cubes are dry, use your thumb to press them onto paper or whatever you want to stamp. The paint will transfer from the sponge and leave a number mark on whatever you press it against!

Sunny Day Number Hunt

You will need

  • A sunny day!
  • An adult to help you.

To play, find a sunny place outside and spread out your craft paper or another sturdy surface with numbers on it. Find a few rocks that are about the same size as the number of rocks you already have in your collection. Your child can count out 8 large rocks, one for each number from 1-8 (a single rock for each number).

Now let your child use their new small rocks to make sure there is an even number of “1s” and “2s” on the paper, then replace any odd ones with larger ones until there are 8 small rocks left over for all the numbers besides 2 and 5 because those two get special treatment in this game.

Now ask mom or dad to hide a bunch of extra small stones nearby so they don’t run out while playing Sunny Day Number Hunt!

To play

Have child pick up one tiny stone at a time while counting aloud until they find one that matches its big counterpart exactly on both sides (the colors must match). If they pick up too many wrong stones before finding the right one, put them back where you found them and try again!

If they drop any off when putting them away, start over again after putting everything back into order since this will take longer than just starting fresh would have done without dropping anything along the way!

Once all matches have been found successfully without messing up too much while trying unsuccessfully the first time around…start over from scratch! The goal here is simply having fun together and working towards solving problems together.”

Number Spinner Craft

What You Need

  • A sheet of paper
  • Scissors
  • Tape or stapler (optional)

How to Make It

Make a square out of the paper and cut it out. Fold the paper in half, so that you have two squares on top of each other. Cut out one of those squares again so that you have four equal-sized triangles. Staple or tape them together to make a spinner. Use magnets in each corner to make your spinner turn easily!

Play with your number spinner by spinning it around and guessing what number comes up next!

Number Necklace Craft

You need

  • Scissors
  • Glue (If you have a hot glue gun, that’s even better because it dries faster.)
  • The numbers you want to use.

I used 1-10 but if your child is younger, you can start with 0-5. And if your child has a birthday coming up soon, this is a great idea for birthday presents!

Now that you know what materials are needed and how to make one yourself, let’s get started!

Kids A-Z Matching Puzzle

Use the alphabet puzzle to help your child learn the ABCs.

  • Using a puzzle to teach kids letters is an easy way to help them learn and retain information.
  • Puzzles can be used to teach kids numbers as well, in addition to letters.
  • Puzzles are fun!

Handprint Flower Pot

To make a handprint flower pot, you’ll need

  • A large flowerpot, or something that can work as one. You can also use an egg carton or even a muffin tin.
  • Paint (or paint pens) in different colors. You’ll have to test the paint first to make sure it’s safe for your child to use; some paints are toxic and/or flammable! If you’re using acrylic paint, remember that it takes longer than water-based paints to dry—you may have time for just one coat of color before the next step.
  • A piece of white paper or poster board at least four inches larger than the pot itself (if using an egg carton or muffin tin). This will become your stencil once you’ve transferred your handprint onto it with pencil crayons or markers.

Next, place all three pieces on top of each other on an old blanket so they stay put while you add details later on in this process:
