Ancient Egypt lasted for over 3000 years and even today we are still learning more about the people of ancient Egypt.
Kids will learn about Egypt through crafts, games, and other activities in this fun series that teaches kids about ancient Egypt.
Paper Pyramid
Paper pyramids are a fun craft to make with your kids. They’re easy to assemble, and they look great when finished!
You will need:
- A sheet of paper that is 20 inches by 30 inches, or two pieces of paper that are 20 inches by 15 inches (one for each side)
- Glue or tape
- Scissors

Ancient Egyptian Masks
You will need.
- Paper or card stock (preferably white or cream)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or tape
- Colored pencils and pens, crayons, etc. (optional)
Step 1. Cut out two ovals for the eyes, a triangle for the nose, and two small circles for the mouth. The eye shapes should be larger than what you think they should be—you can always trim them down later if needed! The mouth circle can also be cut smaller than it appears in this image if you like. You don’t have to cut out everything at once; it’s okay to do so over time as long as you keep track of what goes where!
Step 2. Fold along all edges except those with dashed lines; glue them together when ready to wear so that no one sees how plain your mask looks on its own
Pharaoh’s Mask
You will need.
- A piece of paper (8.5″x11″)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or tape
- Scrap paper (the same size as your main paper)
- The first step is to print two copies of the template onto your main sheet of paper, one for each side. Don’t forget to flip them! Use tape or glue to secure them in place and then cut along the lines on both templates so you have one large sheet with 4 masks when finished cutting out each mask individually.

The Great Sphinx is a statue of a lion that is located on the Giza Plateau in Egypt.
To draw the Great Sphinx, you can use white paper and draw its head with large, wide eyes and small ears. You can also make it with yellow color on its body and black color for its nose and mouth, as well as red stripes around its eyes and neck. Then you can add some details like triangle shapes representing feathers for wings or paws for front legs that have four toes each (three visible).
How to paint your drawing? Use blue-green colors such as turquoise or teal along with black lines under them (for example dark gray) so they stand out against each other more easily when looking at them up close –
but don’t forget to leave some room between these two colors so they don’t blend together completely! Also remember not all Egyptian statues looked alike either; every time someone made one they did something different so there isn’t just one way!

Connect each side with dots at certain points so that they form an “X” or “+” shape where they cross over each other, depending on how far apart they are placed from each other and how long/thick you want them to be! This method is good if you want something simple but still look kind of fancy 🙂
