Materials.

• Salt Dough (see recipe below)
• Miniature fish
• Plastic Easter eggs in assorted colors
• Sanding sugar (to make sand look like beach sand)

Optional Supplies: If you want to add some fun extras to your fish, try adding items like seashells, sea glass, and other small objects. You can also use stickers or stamps if you want the fish to look like it has scales on its body. 

You could also paint the head of a regular plastic fish gold and glue it on top of one of these salt dough creations!

Instructions.

Mix together 2 cups flour, 

1 cup salt, 

2 tablespoons oil until well blended,

Add 2/3 cup hot water slowly while mixing gently until the dough is stiff enough to roll out with hands but not dry enough that it crumbles apart when handled. 

Cover with plastic wrap and let sit overnight at room temperature until hardened (about 12 hours). Knead until smooth again before using for crafts or cooking in the oven at 375 degrees F., then cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to six months (if you don’t think this will last that long!).

Resurrection Eggs

Gather your materials. a paper plate, 6-12 plastic eggs, and some sort of container that can hold the paper plate.

• Place each egg in the center of the paper plate.
• Put the paper plate inside another container (a bowl works well). This way, you’ll be able to see which eggs have hatched without having to touch them!
• Leave the nest overnight and then check it in the morning! Have fun watching your baby chicks hatch from their shells!

Cross Suncatchers

What You Need.

• A piece of clear contact paper (1/4″ or 6mm thick) or a large straw mat
• Scissors, glue, and tape to hang the suncatcher

How to Make a Cross Suncatcher.

Cut out two squares from the contact paper or mat that measure about 3 inches (7.5 cm) in size for each cross. 

They should be just as wide as your thumbprint when closed but fit comfortably inside your hand when opened up flat. 

If you want them to look like real wooden crosses, use brown-colored construction paper instead of white paper for one side and yellow-orange construction paper for the other side. Instructions.

Cut out a paper plate in the shape of a crown. If you want to decorate your crown, this is the time! Decorate by gluing on feathers, sequins, etc., and let it dry before continuing with Step 2. Otherwise, skip ahead to Step 3.

Fold up all four sides of your paper plate so that they meet at its center point and overlap slightly; use tape if necessary to secure them together tightly enough so that they stay folded when wearing your finished crown without falling back down again immediately after taking it off each time

Jello Easter Garden

You’ll need.

• a large glass bowl
• 1 packet of jello, any flavor (feel free to use your favorite color)
• 1/4 cup of boiling water
• 2 cups cold water
• toothpicks or skewers

Q-Tip Calvary Cross Craft

Materials needed.

• 8 q-tips
• 1 piece of cardboard (we used a cereal box)
• How to make the cross:
• Cut out two pieces of cardboard that are each 1 inch longer than the length of your q-tips.

Place one on top of the other and staple it around all four sides. This is your base for the cross. If you don’t have staples, use tape instead! We’ve done it both ways and they both work great! Now it’s time to add our crosses…

Palm Tree Craft for Kids (Cardboard Toilet Paper Roll)

Materials

• 2 toilet paper rolls
• 2 pipe cleaners
• Scissors
• Glue (optional)

Steps 1. 

Cut off the tops of the cardboard tubes, making sure both are equal in length. 

Steps 2. 

Tie a pipe cleaner around each end of both cardboard tubes to create a handle for your palm tree craft for kids!

Paint your palm trees green with a paintbrush and allow to dry thoroughly before adding glitter details with glue or glitter glue.

• 4-5 palm fronds, depending on the size of your frame
• Scissors or knife to cut fronds into strips (optional)

Directions.

Cut palm fronds into long, thin strips about 1/4″ wide and 3 feet long. As an optional step, you can use a knife or scissors to cut some of the veins out of each strip for a more decorative look.

Start with one strip and attach it to one edge of your frame using tape or glue; repeat this step until you have all four corners covered in woven material!

Secure all sides with tape if desired; otherwise, just leave it as is! Display in a sunny window, outdoors if possible!

To make this activity, start by mixing flour and salt in a bowl until it forms a thick dough. Knead the dough until it is relatively smooth. If you’d like to add extra color to your rock art project, add some food coloring or paint at this point. 

Take pieces of the salt dough and press them onto a tray lined with parchment paper so that they are about an inch thick each–you can use cookie cutters if you want! Allow them to dry for several hours before removing them from the pan and using paint or markers to decorate your rocks with designs. Place on display!

• What you need.
• A ring base with a hole in it (like this one)
• Sticky back rhinestones or glitter glue
• How to make it:
• Put on the base and stick your stones onto it, or paint them on with glue! You can also use real rhinestones if you want them to be more permanent.

DIY Cardboard Tomb Craft from Stepping Stones Ministries

Materials.

Cardboard sheets (8 x 12 inches)

• Decorative paper (any color)
• Glue stick or white glue
• Scissors or paper cutter

Instructions.

Cut out the tomb from the cardboard sheet, leaving an extra inch on both sides as well as at the top and bottom of each side of your tomb to make room for glue. If you want this tomb to be 3D, cut approximately 1/4 inch off of each side so that when it’s glued together there will be some space between each piece.

Wrap your tomb with decorative paper by folding over the edges and taping them down with clear tape until all four sides are covered completely. Then use a glue stick or white glue to attach strips along all four sides. Make sure you don’t get any glue on your fingers! If this happens just wash them off under running water until they’re dry again so no one sees them 🙂

Now let’s decorate our tomb! Take about six pieces of ribbon about 11 inches long and fold them in half lengthwise before cutting at an angle across one end as shown below:
