Kan Jam
Kan Jam is a game that can be played without any equipment. All you need is a group of kids and a place to play. The object of the game is to score points by throwing a ball into a goal.
The game is easy to learn and can be played by kids of all ages. This game is for 2 or more players. Players take turns throwing a Frisbee at a can, which is placed on top of a goal (a trash can, for example). If the Frisbee lands in the goal and stays there for 1 second or longer, that player gets 1 point.
If it doesn’t stay in the goal for long enough but still touches it, that player gets 0 points and their opponent gets 1 point. The first team to reach 10 points wins!
Marco Polo
Each player should be given a number. This can be done by choosing a random number, or by each player writing down their own number and then picking one from the hat. The person who draws out of the hat becomes “it.“
When you’re “it,” you have to try and tag as many people as possible before they find everyone else on the team. One way you can play Mother May I? as a family is to have everyone sit in a circle on the floor. Then, choose someone at random to start off as “it.” The first person will go around asking others for permission: “Mother may I touch that chair?” or “Mother may I walk over there?” You can use any phrase you want that includes those three words but there has to be at least one word from each question (i.e., “may” and “I”) included somewhere in your request for permission.
If someone doesn’t allow their child/grandchild/nephew/niece/friend from doing what they’ve requested, then whoever was originally asked becomes “it” again until someone gives them permission!
Monster Chase
Monster Chase is the ultimate game of tag, but with a twist. Instead of a kid chasing another kid, this game has one “monster” who chases all the other kids.
The goal of the monster is to tag each player who is running away from him or her in order to make them stop. If you’ve never played this before, it may take some practice for your little ones to get used to being chased by someone else!
