7 Outdoor Games For Kids During Covid

Everyone is feeling the effects of COVID-19. This can be especially challenging for children who are not able to play with their friends in person.

Luckily, many activities can be done outdoors with your kids while following social distancing guidelines and staying healthy. Below is a list of fun outdoor games you can do with your children during Covid:

Hiking

Hiking is a great way to stay active, and it’s also a great way to explore nature with your kids.

Make sure you are well prepared for hiking with your child or children by checking that they have the right gear, such as water bottles and hats. If you’re taking them camping, make sure you have sleeping bags big enough for all of you!

Hiking is one of my favorite activities during Covid. It’s fun to get out into nature and see what kinds of cool things we can find together!

Bike Rides

As a parent, you’ve probably heard the phrase “you can’t choose your family.” But there’s one thing you can control: your child’s exercise routine.

Bike rides are an excellent way for your little ones to get some fresh air and take advantage of summer weather. Here are some tips for making sure that bike rides are both fun and safe for them.

Make sure they’re wearing a helmet! A helmet is not just important because it protects their head from injury in case of an accident; it also helps reinforce the message that biking is a serious activity that requires safety precautions like wearing helmets, and having reflectors on their bikes (which we will talk about later), and using hand signals when turning or stopping at intersections.

Check the fit of their bike by measuring their arm span against the handlebars; if they fall within 2 inches either way, then everything should be fine! If not, then maybe consider getting them one with smaller handlebars or adjusted seat height so that they don’t strain too much while riding around on two wheels!

Skating

Everyone is feeling the effects of COVID-19. This can be especially challenging for children who are not able to play with their friends in person.

If you’re looking for an outdoor activity that will get both kids and parents moving, skating is a good option. Even if your kids don’t know how to skate, it can be a fun way to spend time with them on the ice. Skating rinks are available at most indoor rinks, so check out their websites before heading out.

Hunts

Hunts are a fun game to play with kids. They are a great way to get them outside and explore their neighborhood or town and for teaching them about nature.

All you need is a list of items, or “prey” as we like to call it, for them to find and bring back. The more challenging the hunt, the more fun it will be!

Before you begin to play, it’s important to decide on the rules. Will your child be hiking through a thick brushy forest or along an open path? Will they be allowed to use binoculars or just their eyesight? Should they stick together in pairs or go off on their own? The answers depend on where you live—the woods near my house have a lot more undergrowth than those near my parents’ house so I’d choose differently if I were playing this game at either location!

Sidewalk Chalk Art

Sidewalk Chalk Art is one of the most popular ways to spend your day in Covid. Sidewalk chalk art involves creating beautiful works of art on the ground, using only chalk and feet.

To make sidewalk chalk art, you will need.

  • a container of colored sidewalk chalk
  • some space to draw (preferably not in front of anyone’s house)

There are two ways you can start making your piece: You can either draw whatever comes to mind or use one of our step-by-step instructions below!

Slip N’ Slide

Making a Slip N’ Slide is easy, but there are some safety precautions to keep in mind. Before you begin, check for any loose nails or screws that could cause injury. Replace them with new screws that are flush with the wood and don’t protrude from the surface.

If you’re using a PVC pipe, consider adding an extra layer of PVC at each end so that there’s less chance of the pipe splitting during use.

Use only water-resistant slip n’ slides like those made from polyethylene (the same material used to make trash bags and plastic wrap). Some materials may be easier than others: vinyl and cotton can potentially dry out quickly and tear, while plastic slides tend to last longer without drying out as much but require more effort when setting up since they’re heavier than other options. Make sure your slide has some weight behind it before putting kids on top—you’ll want enough force for them to get sliding immediately so they don’t slip off easily!

Before hitting the watery fun, let everyone know what rules will apply while having fun playing on your newly-finished product: no running inside the house or around interior doors; slow down near edges; wear shoes at all times!

Freeze Tag

  • How to play

The game begins with one player being the “it”, who then chases after the remaining players. When caught by “it”, that person freezes and becomes part of a frozen chain until someone else is tagged and joins them. When you are tagged with a small hand clap or any other noise (don’t forget your manners!), you must freeze at once! You can be tagged repeatedly as long as you don’t become part of a frozen chain.

  • How to avoid getting tagged

To avoid getting caught by “it”, stand still while they come close enough to tag you—and if they do manage to tag someone other than yourself then run away! The last person standing wins. If there is more than one remaining participant in play during this stage then whoever has been frozen for the least amount of time will win out over everyone else still moving around freely in the play area space.* How To Play With A Large Group Of Kids If You Have Smaller Children In Your Household Who Are Too Young Or Not Able Enough Yet To Play Outdoor Games Like This One Then Here Is A Way That Allows Them All To Participate And Have Fun While Doing So!

Fun Ways With Your Kids During Covid

Covid is a very hard time, but you can still play outside in fun ways with your kids during Covid. It can be a great learning experience and a family tradition.

Playing games Games are a great way to bond with your children, but they can also let them know what it was like for the people in Israel when they were going through Covid. Play board games or make up new rules for games that already exist so that you can make it more interesting. Make up silly rules or have rewards for winning the game!

Make it fun If you want to teach your children about what happened during Covid, then find ways to make learning fun by making jokes or making things silly (like singing songs).

Conclusion

It’s tough to keep kids active and engaged during a pandemic, but there are plenty of outdoor games for children that can help you do just that. Before your next outdoor playtime, consider these seven ideas: hiking, biking rides, skating trips, hunting expeditions (for treasure or bugs), chalk art classes on sidewalks or in backyards, slip n’ slide activities with sprinklers and inflatable pools filled with water—or even an old cardboard box turned into a sled!
