First, sketch a circle. This will be the basic shape of your monkey’s face. The circle should be about one-third of the way down from the top of your page and a little smaller than ¾” in diameter.

Next, draw an oval for his eye; it should be about ⅜” long by ¼” wide and placed on top of the circle so that half of its length is inside and half hangs outside. Make sure it’s centered horizontally because we don’t want our monkey looking cross-eyed!
Now sketch out his nose with two lines: one horizontal as before (⅜”) and one diagonal line above it starting at ⅛” from each end and ending at 1/16″ from their other ends. Connect these two lines with another diagonal line that begins at ½”.

Or they could be doing something else that requires a wide-open mouth. For example, they could be shouting at something or someone in anger.

Add hands to each side of its body by drawing two small ovals connected by a line at their closest points (the wrists).
