How To Draw A Monkey

How To Draw A Monkey

First, sketch a circle. This will be the basic shape of your monkey’s face. The circle should be about one-third of the way down from the top of your page and a little smaller than ¾” in diameter.

A monkey’s face is a circle.

Next, draw an oval for his eye; it should be about ⅜” long by ¼” wide and placed on top of the circle so that half of its length is inside and half hangs outside. Make sure it’s centered horizontally because we don’t want our monkey looking cross-eyed!

Now sketch out his nose with two lines: one horizontal as before (⅜”) and one diagonal line above it starting at ⅛” from each end and ending at 1/16″ from their other ends. Connect these two lines with another diagonal line that begins at ½”.

A monkey has two eyes. The eyes are on the left and right sides of the head.

The eyes are on opposite sides of the face.

The eyes are on opposite sides of their bodies, or bodies themselves.

A monkey has its mouth open wide.

In this step, you’ll draw the monkey’s mouth. It should be open wide, with the upper lip raised up and its tongue sticking out.

This is because monkeys eat food by holding it in their hands and then putting it into their mouths (and chewing).

Or they could be doing something else that requires a wide-open mouth. For example, they could be shouting at something or someone in anger.

A monkey has two hands. One is on the left side of the body and one is on the right side of the body. The hands point downward.

Draw two lines for each hand, one on each side of the body (one on top of a leg)

Draw two lines for each arm, one on each side of the body (one on top of an arm)

Draw two legs with feet at both ends

Draw two tails behind your monkey

You can draw a Monkey in four easy steps

Now that you know the basics, let’s get started.

Draw a circle for the head. The circle should be large enough to accommodate your monkey’s features.

Draw two curved lines for the eyes and one straight line for the mouth. You can make the nose pointy or round; whatever looks best on your particular monkey.

Add hands to each side of its body by drawing two small ovals connected by a line at their closest points (the wrists).
