What Games Should A 12-Year-Old Play

Dear readers, I have a 12-year-old. And honestly, she’s not very sporty.

She doesn’t want to play sports games. And so the question is: what should a 12-year-old play? Well, we’ve done our research, and here are some of the options that are out there for you:

Uno Junior

Uno Junior is a great choice for kids to play.

This simplified version of Uno will appeal to your child’s sense of humor and encourage them to learn the fundamentals of strategy. It’s also fun enough that you can enjoy playing together as a family.

Once Upon a Time

Once Upon a Time is a game of storytelling, bluffing, and strategy that you can play with your friends or family. It’s also a great way to get to know one another better.

The rules are simple: all players are dealt five cards from the deck and must invent stories about them without revealing their actual meaning. If you succeed, you can tell another player which card you chose and what it means.

This is my sister-in-law’s birthday present for me”). If someone believes your story, they have no choice but to swap their card with yours; if not, they must discard it into their own personal discard pile (which will eventually be shuffled back into the main deck).

Games like this teach kids how to think on their feet while also teaching them how other people react under pressure

Operation

The ruthless, heartless game of Operation is a perfect example of what it means to be a good game for kids. It’s fun and challenging! It’s educational! It’s funny!

And that’s what makes it so great for kids; they will have fun playing with the game while learning something at the same time.

The object of this game is to remove all the organs from this plastic patient before he dies from his ailment (which varies depending on which version of Operation you have). If you touch an organ when removing other body parts, then whoever is operating gets buzzed by their partner and must stop taking out organs immediately. The point here? Don’t touch any organs whatsoever while playing because that means instant failure and no one likes losing in an argument against someone else… especially when they’re trying not fall apart while doing so!

Hungry Hungry Hippos

Hungry Hungry Hippos is a classic for a reason. It’s simple, fun, and great for kids!

In this game, you get to be the hippo and eat as many marbles as possible. You can also play with friends (or by yourself) which makes it even more fun! Just try not to eat too many marbles…

Qwirkle

Qwirkle is a tile-laying game. Players take turns placing tiles of one color in a row, either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally.

The first player to create a line of six matching tiles wins. Qwirkle is suitable for 2-4 players and takes about 20 minutes to play.

Ticket To Ride

Ticket to Ride is a fun game for all ages. It’s easy to learn, but it also requires strategic thinking and planning in order to win.

The game involves collecting train cards that will allow you to build your own railway system across America, connecting cities in an effort to complete your own personal routes before other players do. Tickets can be purchased from other players or earned by completing routes and then collecting money for each ticket sold in your turn.

The game is one of luck as well as skill: when drawing new cards from the deck, there are no guarantees that you’ll get what you need; instead, it often comes down to chance whether or not you draw any tickets at all! However, if you’re able to plan ahead and anticipate where on the board other players are likely headed next (and thus avoid building along those tracks), then this element becomes less random than many other games of its type.

Ticket To Ride is an excellent choice for those who enjoy strategy games but don’t want anything too complex or time-consuming—it can be played in under an hour with two players or up against any number of people who have been invited over!

Games Should A 12-Year-Old Play

If you’re wondering what games your tween should play, the answer is simple. Uno Junior. The game is a great way to introduce your child to the world of card games.

It’s easy and fun, and it can be played with or without an adult. You can also use this as an opportunity to sit down and play together with your kids—and who knows? Maybe they’ll let you in on their secret spy agency!

Once Upon a Time is another fantastic option for younger kids because it teaches them how important it is to share. It’s also a lot of fun for parents because it gives us an excuse to tell our children about all the things we used to like when we were younger (like roller skates). If that doesn’t sound like fun for everyone involved, then I don’t know what does!
