11 Camel Craft For Kids

Camels are a favorite animal for kids to learn about.

They are unique, exotic, and make great pets. For this reason, I decided to make some craft projects that could bring the camel theme into your home. Here are eleven fun projects that will help you get started!

3D Cardboard Camel

Use cardboard to make a 3D camel.

  • Glue the pieces together using a glue gun.

Paint the camel with paints and a paintbrush, then glue on the eyes and nose (optional).

Paper Plate and Toilet Paper Roll Camel

Take a plate and cut out a hole in the middle to make a hump. Cut small strips of paper, then tape them all together to make the body.

Make another strip of paper by cutting it into four equal parts, then glue this onto the other side so that it looks like legs sticking out at both sides of the hump (see picture).

Paint all of your camels with glue and water (if you want), or just some parts if you prefer not to have too much mess! For example: just paint its nose, eyes, and mouth; or paint one half only if you’re making two camels from one toilet paper roll

we’ll show how later on!

Recycled TP Roll and Felt Cookie Cutter Camel

You’ll need

A recycled toilet paper roll, or another cardboard tube (you can buy them at the dollar store)

A felt cookie cutter that’s about 5 inches long for the body and about 3 inches long for the head and legs. You can also use a small styrofoam cup or a pencil eraser that you have cut into those shapes.

Glue, like hot glue or school glue (we love Elmer’s Glue)

Googly eyes, if you need something cute on your camel to make it more fun!

Paper Plate, Felt, and Tissue Tube Camels

  • What you need:
  • Paper plate, white and brown felt.
  • How to make the camel: Cut out the shape of the camel from the paper plate, trace it onto the felt, cut it out and glue it to the paper plate. Add some eyes and a mouth with markers if you wish!

Paper Bag Craft for Kids – Camel

Materials

  • Paper bag
  • Brown or black marker
  • Straw
  • White glue
  • Paintbrush

Now that you have all the materials, it’s time to get started! First, cut out a hole in the top of your paper bag for your child to put their head through.

Then, draw eyes and a mouth on their face with a marker. Next, cut out two triangles from the bottom of the bag for legs and draw them on with markers too. Cut out four small circles from scrap paper and use them as feet by gluing them onto each leg triangle.

Finally, cut four large circles from scrap paper and glue these onto each corner where there used to be handled on your camel’s back (these will be ears). Let dry overnight before doing anything else!

Toilet Paper Roll Camel

  • Cut a toilet paper roll in half.
  • Use a felt tip pen to draw your camel, making sure it has two humps and a long nose.
  • Glue the drawing to the toilet paper roll with a glue stick.
  • Glue yarn onto the top of the toilet paper roll for hair!

Coffee Filter Camel Craft for Kids

You can make a camel using coffee filters, glue, and a straw. To make this coffee filter camel craft, you’ll need.

  • 2 black coffee filters (or white if you prefer)
  • Glue gun or glue stick
  • Red pom-poms (1 for each eye)
  • Small piece of red paper for nose and mouth

Paper Cup Craft for Kids – Camels to the Rescue!

Here’s a fun project for kids: make a paper cup camel! You can use any kind of paper cup, but I like to use ones that are taller than they are wide because the finished product looks more realistic.

You can also choose to paint the body of your camel with brown paint and the ears yellow for an especially cute look.
