11 Felt Christmas Tree Craft For Kids

The holidays are a time to gather with family and friends and make memories that will last a lifetime.

One of my favorite traditions is decorating the Christmas tree as a family, but we’ve also learned that it’s important for younger children to have fun with the process too!

It doesn’t matter if you’re decorating at home or at your local tree farm. these felt Christmas trees provide hours of entertainment for kids (and adults), from creating them from scratch or using pre-made kits. Here are some ideas:

Felt Christmas Tree

Felt Christmas trees are a great way to decorate your tree this season.

Felt is a material that kids can easily work with, and it’s inexpensive, too!

Ribbon Christmas Tree

For this fun craft, you’ll need.

  • 2-3 rolls of ribbon in different colors and patterns (at least 1/2″ wide)
  • hot glue gun, or glue sticks and tape if using regular glue gun
  • scissors to cut the ribbon into desired lengths.

Stocking Christmas Tree

A stocking tree is a fun craft for kids to make. They can decorate a stocking with felt, glitter paper, and other materials.

The stocking can be hung on the wall or door as an ornament.

It also can be hung on a tree in the home or classroom.

Pre-lit Christmas Tree

First, you will need to make a paper Christmas tree. To make the paper Christmas tree, follow these steps.

Cut out a rectangle of green paper and roll it into a cone shape.

Cut out strips of white paper that are 1 inch wide and 6 inches long. Glue them around your cone in rows so it looks like bark on an actual tree (you can glue them on right-side up or upside down).

Glue two popsicle sticks together at each end to form a cross shape for support for your tree’s trunk. Make sure they are connected securely before moving on to step four!

Then glue the bottom half of your cone onto one end of these crosses (not the top halves) and let dry overnight! This will be where you add bulbs, lights, and ornaments later on when you’re done with all eleven crafts here today!

Tinsel Christmas Tree

This tree is the most colorful and easiest to make. You will need,

  • Felt
  • Tinsel (or any other type of sparkly material)
  • Ribbon, embellishments, and other decorations of your choice (Christmas tree ornaments, pom-poms, or anything else you want)

To start, cut out a large circle shape from the felt. Glue the tinsel on top of the felt using craft glue. Then cut out a smaller circle for the bottom part of your tree and glue it to the center.

Next, add some ribbon around your tinsel-covered large circle as well as other decorations like Christmas tree ornaments or pom-poms!

Popsicle Stick Christmas Tree

To make a popsicle stick Christmas tree, you’ll need.

  • Popsicle sticks (I used about 100)
  • Hot glue gun
  • Ribbon or twine (optional)

To make a star ornament, you’ll need. Super glue or hot glue gun

Edible Christmas Tree

Materials.

  • Candy Canes or Candy Corn
  • Pretzels (optional)
  • Toothpicks (optional)

3D Felt Ornaments on a Stick

You will need.

  • Felt ornament template
  • Hole punch
  • String or yarn
  • Glue gun (or hot glue sticks)

Snowman & Light Bulb Ornament Crafts!

There are many ways to make ornaments for your Christmas tree. You can use a variety of materials, from felt and fabric to paper and yarn.

This post will show you 10 different craft ideas for you to try out this holiday season!

  • Snowman Ornament Crafts

These snowman ornaments are super easy to make, but they’re adorable too! They can be hung on the tree or used as place settings at your next holiday party. The best part is that they only take about fifteen minutes total so even if it seems like there’s not enough time in the day right now, don’t worry—you’ll be able to get these done!

  • Light Bulb Ornament Crafts –

These light bulbs are pretty simple overall but they look amazing with their string lights inside them! You’ll need some white felt (or whatever color you want), scissors, and gluefor this project which shouldn’t take more than thirty minutesto complete once all materials have been gathered together so don’t worry about leaving any out either since everything else should be fairly easy to follow along with step by step instructions given during assembly process itself.”
