There are all kinds of fun crafts and activities that kids can do with pizza.

11 Pizza Craft For Kids

Maybe not super-healthy all the time, but there’s no reason to only eat pizza! Kids (and adults) love playing with this classic, favorite food.

Here are 11 fun ideas for crafts that your kids will love!

Pizza Wheel Plate

  • Using a paper plate, cut it in half with a pizza cutter.
  • Paint one side of each piece of the plate and let dry completely before moving on to the next step (or you can use stickers or glitter or markers to decorate it instead).
  • Once both sides are dry, put them together to create your pizza wheel!

Felt Pizza Slice

You will need.

felt

I used 2-3mm thick wool felt for this activity, but choose a thickness that is suitable for the children you are working with.

fabric glue

I used an all-purpose craft glue from Decoden Boutique, but any strong all-purpose glue should work fine.

scissors I don’t have a pair of fabric scissors so we just used regular kitchen shears.

Step 1 Cut out your pizza slice shapes from the felt (you can download our template here). You can use cookie cutters or free-hand them as we did in our example above!

If you are using cookie cutters, try not to pull the edge up too much when cutting out your shape as pulling too hard may cause some fraying around the edges which isn’t great if you want them to look like they’ve been cooked on a pan )

Pizza Cushion

For this craft, you will need.

Newspaper or a cutting mat. You’re going to cut out circles using a pizza cutter and then sew them together with a needle and thread.

It’s best if you use fabric paint for this part, but you can also use pencils or crayons to draw the lines for your slices on paper first and then transfer them to your cushion cover by tracing over them with fabric paint so that they are still visible when it’s finished.

If you want fancier pizza slices, though—or just plain larger ones—you can use an acrylic ruler or strip of cardboard as a stencil when applying the paint or marker instead of drawing each slice individually by hand! Finally, put glue on both sides of each slice before attaching them all together!

Painted Clay Pot Pizza

To make a painted clay pot pizza, you will need.

An oven-safe dish or pot.

The size of the dish doesn’t matter; it just needs to be big enough to hold your pizza and have the right depth for baking. If you don’t have a clay pot, use any oven-safe dish that you do have.

Acrylic paint or stickers (optional).

Decorate your pot with whatever materials you have on hand! If using paint, remember to seal it in with another layer of acrylic before baking or else it may crack when heated up.

Paper Bag Pizza Puppet

To make a paper bag puppet, you will need

  • A small paper bag (the smaller the bag, the easier it will be to manipulate)
  • A marker and scissors
  • A ribbon or string to tie off the top of your pizza puppet (you can use more than one piece if needed)

Mini Tin Can Pizzas

If you’ve never made pizzas before, this is the perfect craft for you! All you need is a small tin can and a small lid.

First, cut a small piece of paper into an oval shape (the same size as your lid).

Next, place the paper over your pizza base and secure it with some tape. Now, place your toppings in a circle on top of your pizza base, then cover with more paper so it will fit inside the tin can when finished.

Finally, place another layer of cardboard inside the can so that it’s snugly fitted around all sides—but not too tight! This will prevent any mess from leaking out while baking! Now all that’s left to do is bake until golden brown!

Family Hand Print Pizzas

Here’s a fun pizza craft for kids. You’ll need.

  • play dough in various colors
  • cookie cutters (or other round objects) in various sizes
  • plastic wrap or wax paper, to keep the dough from sticking to surfaces as you work

To make your pizzas

Roll out several balls of play dough and place them on a tray lined with plastic wrap or wax paper (to keep them from sticking). Use a cookie cutter to make circles in each ball of dough, then spread the rest of the dough around using your fingers or another circle template.

Place the smaller circle inside the larger one and gently press down until it sticks, forming an outline for your pizza crust. Repeat this process with another color of play-dough until you have enough crusts for all your pizzas—one per family member!

Repeat step 1 using different-sized circles for each family member’s individual handprint pizza crusts; I usually start with small finger-sized ones and gradually increase their size as we get bigger and older! Once again, make sure these get pressed firmly together so they stick together when baking later on!

Pizza Boxes

There are a few ways to make a pizza box.

You can use cardstock, paper, cardboard, or even paper bags and paper napkins. It’s up to you!

Glittery Play Dough Pizzas with Chalkboard Plates and Crusts

When I was a kid, we had a ton of pizza playdough. My mom would make it in the oven, and it would be very edible (and tasty!).

Today, we’re going to make our own glittery and edible play dough pizzas.

The kids can get involved in every step of this craft by making their own chalkboard plates with their names on them and then creating their own crust shapes using cookie cutters or pizza cutters!

Finally, they can use a spatula to spread the sauce all over their pizzas before topping them off with cheese – and even pepperoni if you want!

Jar Lid Pizza Calzones for a Sensory Bin or Small World Play

This step-by-step guide will show you how to make a pizza craft for kids.

It’s an easy sensory bin for toddlers, preschoolers, and even older kids who love playing with food!

You can make this pizza craft in under 5 minutes, so it would be a great activity to do before or after dinner (or lunch)! It works perfectly as a creative way to use up any leftovers from your meal too!

Plastic Bottle Lid Oven Mitt Pizzas with Cardstock Crusts and Toppings!

To make the oven mitts, cut two circles out of cardstock that is slightly larger than your child’s hand. Then, glue the bottoms together to form a tube.

Glue one end to form a circle, and then roll over the edges with scissors so it looks like an oven mitt. Let dry for about 10-15 minutes before turning it over and adding another layer of glue around the edges so it can’t be pulled off easily by little hands!

To make pizzas follow these steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Make dough according to your recipe or store-bought dough (depending on preference). Roll out the pizza crust into the desired shape (round or square).

Apply sauce in the desired amount on top of the crust; use as much sauce as you like! Add toppings in any pattern/design you wish! Repeat until all toppings have been placed onto pizza crust(s).

You can even add cheese if desired too! Just remember not too much else will fit inside once folded up into an enclosed packet again later…so keep things tight together when placing items down 🙂

Bake pizzas at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown around edges — approximately 20 minutes depending on how crispy/softly cooked each person wants their crust–then remove from oven onto a cooling rack until cool enough before eating ). Enjoy!!

There Are So Many Cute Ways To Play With Pizza!

Pizza is a fun theme for kids. It’s easy to make crafts with this theme, which makes it an excellent choice for beginners or children who aren’t ready to tackle more challenging projects.

Here are some things to keep in mind when making pizza crafts:

You can make a craft that’s perfect for any age group by simply choosing the right materials and supplies.

If your child is just learning how to work with glue, you may want them to stick with something similar but easier like playdough or clay. If they’re already experienced at crafting, then go ahead and challenge them!

Children will love decorating their pizzas however they like with stickers, paint brushes and markers (or even crayons). Just remember not all materials are meant for young children so always check first before using them together!

Conclusion

It’s up to you! You can use these crafts for pretend play with kids, make them into gifts, or just have fun with them. The possibilities are endless!
