11 Quilling Craft For Kids

Quilling is an art that involves rolling paper strips into a cone shape. This technique dates back to the 15th century but has recently become popular again,

thanks to YouTube and Pinterest tutorials. Quilling paper craft projects can be done by kids of all ages, but they’re especially great for young crafters who are just learning their way around the kitchen table!

Quilling Paper Flower

To make a paper flower, you will need.

  • Quilling paper strips (you can use any color)
  • A quilling tool (this is a special tool that helps you roll and shape the paper strip into different shapes)
  • Scissors

Cut strips of quilling paper into 1-inch pieces. Make sure to cut them into different lengths so that they come out in various sizes when you shape them later.

You can use any kind of quilling paper but I used some brown and green stripes for this project because I thought they would look nice on my finished product!

The blue ones looked good too but since we had those already from another project I decided not to use them this time around!

Quilling Art Birdhouse

  • Quilling paper strips in different colors
  • A glue gun or a strong adhesive
  • A paper punch to make circles, squares, or any shape you like (optional)

Cut the quilling strip into small pieces and roll them with your fingers. You can also roll them using a tool known as a roller but it is not necessary. The smaller the curls are, the better they will be for creating details of your project.

Glue each curl onto your birdhouse base until its fully covered with curls and add more glue if required to secure its place firmly on the surface of the house structure. If you don’t have any curling tool at hand then simply use scissors to cut thin sheets of paper off from larger sheets so that each one becomes different from another one in terms of size and shape!

Quilling Minion

A minion is a yellow, cylindrical, one-eyed creature that is both clumsy and accident-prone. The Minions are small, cylindrical creatures who are about one foot tall.

They have only three fingers and a thumb on each hand.

Minion has been a popular movie character since 2010 and has since become a household name for children as well as adults all around the world. This quilling craft uses a Minion’s face as inspiration to create an adorable paper toy with googly eyes!

Quilling Poppy Card

If you are looking for an easy project to do with the kids, who will love the results of this quilling poppy card.

It’s also a great project for beginners, as you can use templates provided on the internet.

You can find several variations of this flower online, but we’ll show you how to make one using the template below:

Cut out the template and tape it on top of your quilling paper (you may need a few sheets depending on size). You will cut along all lines except for one or two small holes where petals are located.

There should be some space between petals so they won’t stick together. Be careful while doing so as sharp scissors could damage paper fibers making them difficult to roll afterward!

If desired – you can use glue around the outer edge of each petal where they overlap one another – just make sure it doesn’t dry before rolling otherwise it might damage your design!

Funky Butterflies

You will need.

  • Quilling strips
  • Scissors
  • Pencil and paper for planning your design.

Make a card with a butterfly design, which can be made by using different colored paper or differently shaped papers. You can also use different-sized papers and quilling strip colors to make it look more colorful and attractive.

Shaped Cards

Shape cards are a great way to make your card unique. You can use various shapes and colors to give it a modern touch.

Shape cards are easy to make and you don’t have to spend much time on the decoration of your card.

You can also use different papers for making shaped cards, which will give your card a fantastic look. You can also try out different techniques, such as quilling or origami as well as paper cutting, when making these shape cards for kids!

Birthday Cake Card

Birthday cake quilling is a craft for kids that can be made on different occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and other celebrations.

To make this birthday cake quilling card you need to cut out a round shape from the paper with your scissors. Then roll up quilling strips in different colors to get the same color as your round shape.

Once you finish rolling all these strips together, attach them by gluing them with glue or tape over them so that they become one big roll of quilled paper.

Then cut it into pieces at its length so that you get lots of small circles in different colors and sizes. Now attach these circles to the sides of your round shape card as shown in the picture above!

I hope that these ideas have helped you get some inspiration for your next quilting project. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect! The most important thing is that you have fun with it and enjoy the process of creating something beautiful with your hand
