7 Pilot Hat Craft For Kids

7 Pilot Hat Craft For Kids

7 Pilot Hat Craft For Kids Kids love the pilot hats that they see in the movies and on TV. There’s something about them that is just so cool!

They can be a little tricky to make, though, so we’ve done our best to simplify the process without compromising on quality.

You’ll need some basic sewing skills to complete this project but if you don’t have any experience at all then don’t worry – it’s actually really easy!

Make Your Own Aviator Hat

Materials needed to make an aviator hat,

  • A cardboard box
  • A pen or pencil
  • Scissors
  • A ruler (optional)
  • Glue, tape, and scissors for decorating (optional)

This Aviator Hat Is Super Cool And Is Much Easier To Make Than You Might Think.

Materials.

  • One sheet of black construction paper for the hat body and brim
  • One sheet of brown construction paper for the visor and straps
  • Scissors or a craft knife (adult supervision required)

Step 1

Decide how big you want your aviator hat to be, then draw a circle on your black construction paper that’s about 9 inches in diameter. Cut out the circle with scissors or a craft knife, making sure not to cut your hand off in the process!

Step 2

Fold your brown construction paper into quarters so it’s just as tall as it is wide.

You can also fold it into thirds or halves if that makes it easier for you—the important part is that the resulting rectangle should be about 4 inches tall by 8 inches wide (or whatever size you decided on).

Now fold this rectangle along its length so it becomes an equal-sided triangle with all three sides being approximately 4 inches long each; again, folding both ways is fine but make sure all three sides are equal before proceeding.

Step 3

If this all seems confusing just do what I did at first which was cut two identical rectangles from another piece of brown cardstock after making sure both were exactly 5″x7″, then folded them along one short side until they became equal-sided triangles with all three sides measuring 5″x2″ each.”
