11 Breastplate Of Righteousness Craft For Kids

These projects are great for groups and Sunday School classes, or if you have a few kids at home who want to get involved in their own Bible studies.

Breastplate of Righteousness Paint Chip

We can use the paint chip method to teach kids about the breastplate of righteousness.

The breastplate of righteousness is a piece of armor that God gave to Moses (Exodus 28:17). It was made from one sheet of bronze and covered with a layer of gold, which made it look like shiny metal. This breastplate protected Moses’ heart, which means he could think clearly and act wisely during battle.

This set includes.

  • A piece of leather or other sturdy material for your child’s breastplate (about 5″ x 7″)
  • Two bottle caps or round pieces cut from cardboard for your child’s shoulder pieces and waistband

Breastplate of Righteousness Craft with Printables

You can make this craft by using a printable for children to color. The sheet contains a picture of a breastplate and the words “Breastplate of Righteousness” in white,

with space for your child to color their own breastplate.

When you’re ready to make the craft, cut out the printed pattern pieces and use them as templates to cut out some cardboard (or foam board, if you have that on hand). You’ll need one piece per child in your class who will be making their own breastplates. Then glue each piece onto one side of the cardboard so that it looks like this:

You don’t have to use plastic cups if you don’t want–you can just buy some inexpensive plate protectors at any office supply or craft store and tape those onto some sturdy cardboard instead. Or just tell parents ahead of time not to get mad if their kid brings home an extra-cheap-looking but very functional breastplate from school!

Armor of God Coloring Page

This is a great craft for kids to make. They will learn about the 10 commandments, the breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation, and shield of faith.

The bible tells us we should put on the full armor of God so that we can stand firm against the attacks of Satan (Ephesians 6:10-18). The following is a list of items that make up this armor:

  • Breastplate Of Righteousness

“Stand firm then with your loins girded about with truth.” (Ephesians 6:14)

  • Helmet Of Salvation

“Above all take the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts.” (Ephesians 6:16)

  • Shield Of Faith

“Take up, therefore, your shield of faith.” (Ephesians 6:16)

How To Make It!

Print out these pages onto card stock or thick paper. Cut out each image individually using scissors or an Exacto knife. Or use colored pencils instead )

Glue on any decorations you want such as feathers or rhinestones. Fold along dotted lines and attach Velcro dots

Armor Up! Kids’ Bible Lessons about Ephesians 6

Help your kids understand how to use the Armor of God. The Armor of God is for every Christian, every age, and every situation.

It’s a powerful weapon against Satan and his attacks. That’s why it’s so important that Christians know what each piece of this armor does, who it protects them from, and how it helps them fight their battles every day!

In Ephesians 6:10-18, Paul explains what each part of our spiritual armor looks like and why we need it. He also reminds us that these pieces are not just for defense; they are also offensive tools ready to be used in any battle at any time!

As you read through Ephesians 6 with your child (and teach them how to use this armor), take some time by yourself or with other adults who can help you explain why each piece is so essential.

Breastplates for the Armor of God Craft for Kids {Pontius Pilate}

  • Paper plate
  • Crayons
  • Glue
  • Googly eyes
  • Felt, preferably in a color that matches the paper plate you’ve chosen (I used red)
  • Scissors and craft knife/blade (to cut out shapes)

The first step is to draw your designs on the paper plate. You can do this with crayons or markers, but I recommend using colored pencils instead; that way you can erase any mistakes easily!

Once you’re done drawing your designs and have a good idea of where everything will go, cut out each shape with scissors or an X-Acto knife, for example, cut out a heart for Jesus’ love for us as well his sacrifice for our behalf.

Once all pieces are removed from their respective plates/paintings/etc., carefully use a glue gun (or glue stick) to affix them onto our breastplate form. Now put on your breastplate and stand up straight!

Take Target Practice (Armor of God Lesson) – Children’s Ministry Deals

Target practice is a fun way to learn about the armor of God! Here’s how it works. Take a large cardboard box and cut out holes for the eyes and mouth, then cut an opening on one side.

Use scissors to make your target more detailed by cutting out different shapes from construction paper or cardstock and placing them on the inside of your cardboard box as targets.

Finally, use some yarn, fishing line, or string to hold up each target for your kids to shoot at after you’ve read through Ephesians 6:10-20 with them (or another passage from Scripture).

The best part about this activity is that it can be used in a variety of ways depending on what age group you are working with—from preschoolers learning about spiritual warfare for the first time all the way up to teens who need reminders about specific pieces of armor like truth and righteousness!
