11 Cupcake Craft For Kids

So it’s no surprise that one of our favorite activities is making cupcakes together. There are so many different types of cupcake crafts out there — from paper to chocolate to glitter — that we’ve been able to find something for every skill level in the family.

Here are 11 unique ideas for turning your next bake sale into a DIY extravaganza:

Paper Cupcake Craft Tutorial From Growing A Jeweled Rose.

This is a paper cupcake craft tutorial from Growing a Jeweled Rose. This craft can be made by kids and is also a cute cupcake for them to eat!

It’s so simple that it would be a great project for younger children. The only thing you’ll need to make this project is:

  • Tissue paper (I used three different colors)
  • A straw
  • Scissors.

Cut out the tissue paper into circles, then cut out the middle of each circle with your scissors. Tape the straw onto one end of your tissue paper and roll it up like you would a piece of tape or ribbon!

Take off some of the tapes so that there’s less around the edge when it’s done rolling up. Cut off any excess length with scissors as needed so that you’re left with just enough room at both ends for taping around another straw if desired (or just leave plain).

Candy Cupcake Craft From Dandee Designs.

Materials

  • cupcake liners or wrappers. You can buy them in bulk at a party store, or find some in the toy aisle of most grocery stores.
  • candy. Any kind of candy is fine for this project, but larger candies like M&Ms and gummies are easier for kids to handle. If you have small children, you may want to cut up their candy into smaller pieces ahead of time so it’s easier for them to use as decoration when they’re making their cupcakes!

Cupcake Necklaces For Kids From Say Yes.

You will need a cupcake mold to make the necklace.

The jump ring should go through the cupcake, then through the chain.

The chain extender can be used to make your necklace longer.

Colorful Paper Cupcake Craft From I Heart Arts N Crafts.

To make this colorful paper cupcake craft, you’ll need.

  • Colored papers
  • Scissors or a craft knife (not children)
  • Glue stick and/or tape (not children)

Once you have everything assembled, follow these steps:

Step 1

Cut out the base of your cupcake. Use the template provided on i heart arts n crafts to cut it out. This can be done by using scissors or a craft knife (not children). If you are using a craft knife then please be careful! It is very sharp and can hurt if not handled properly which means that adults should do this step only.

You may want to choose something else for your child because there are too many variables in play when it comes to cutting with sharp objects such as knives that could cause injury if not used properly by an adult so we recommend cutting out their own pieces of paper instead which will still give them a sense of accomplishment while also keeping them safe from harm!

Step 2

Create layers inside each section by folding small squares into triangles, then gluing them down on top of one another in different colors until all sections have been filled up except for two.

The bottom section where we will place our cupcake wrapper later on and one more at the top left corner before proceeding onto the next steps which will complete the makings process once completed successfully )

You’ll need.

  • A piece of cardboard, cut into a circle and painted orange at one end and yellow at the other (it looks like a sun!)

Pretty Paper Cupcakes For Kids To Make from Red Ted Art’s Blog.

To make these beautiful cupcake decorations you’ll need. Tissue paper

Food dye (various colors). I used Wilton gel paste food coloring but liquid food coloring would be fine too.

Paper towel roll or cardboard tube, about 16cm long (my kids found it easier to wrap the tissue paper around this than a pen as it was less likely to tear.)

Different size cups (I used mini muffin cups and 2-inch round cake pans) – use baking paper cut-outs in each container if you don’t want to get your frosting everywhere! If you want to make the same-sized cupcakes then just stick with one type of container.

Step 1

Cut the tissue paper into squares and fold each one diagonally so that they look like triangles in size order (1st piece smallest at top right; last piece largest at the bottom left). It should look like this when folded correctly:

DIY Cupcake Pencil Toppers From Happiness is Homemade.

Materials

  • felt squares (in the colors of your choice)
  • cupcake-shaped cookie cutter
  • scissors or a craft knife to cut out your shapes and pencils.

Directions

Cut out 12-14 small colored circles for each cupcake, about 1 inch in diameter (or whatever size you want). Cut 2 long rectangles for the top of each cupcake, about 4 inches by 2 inches (or whatever size you want).

2. Place two plain squares on top of each other, then place a small circle on top and glue together with hot glue or fabric glue.

Repeat this step until you have as many layers as desired. You can make them stand up by creating an extra layer at the bottom with another plain square on top and gluing it together with hot glue or fabric glue as well!

3. Once all layers are glued together around all sides except one side that’s open like so…
