To make the band-aids, cut out two small circles from a cardboard or poster board. These will be the centers of your band-aids.

Cut strips of paper about 1 inch wide and 5 inches long; these will be your band-aids’ legs, so they should be long enough to wrap around one side of a ball but not overlap when laid flat against each other as shown in Figure 1 below. 

Glue them together at one end and stick them onto the cardboard centers with a dab of glue on each leg where it touches the center circle (see Figure 2). If you have time, let them dry overnight before proceeding!

Now for attaching your band-aids to an animal’s body… grab some hot glue and trace around each petal onto its corresponding side as shown in Figure 3.

Cut out holes in your box with scissors or an Exacto knife so that the child can reach his or her hands through them (without being injured). Make sure there’s enough room for them to move around inside the box as well.
