11 Paper Fan Craft For Kids

Have you ever wanted to make some really cool crafts, but don’t have many materials on hand? Well, that’s where paper fans can help!

These little guys are perfect for making fun decorations and crafts. From flowers to wreaths and everything in between, paper fans are the answer to your crafty needs.

Here are 11 of our favorite fan crafts that we think you’ll love making:

Animals

Choose an animal pattern to use as your template. Make sure you’re careful when cutting out the pieces so that they fit together properly.

Try using a glue stick (you can find these at any office supply store) to glue the pieces together, or if you want to go more old-school, try using some school glue and a brush!

Paint the animals with watercolors or acrylic paint; use a pencil or marker to draw on details like noses and eyes!

Punch holes for string in their feet so that they’ll be ready for hanging up when you’re done!

Vehicles

Vehicles are fun for kids to make. They can be cars, trucks, airplanes, or trains.

  • To make the wheels on a car.

Take a paper plate or other round object and use a ruler to cut out 4 circles (2 of them should be slightly larger than the other 2). Cut out 2 small squares from each circle and glue them to each end of 2 of the circles so you have 4 wheels with axles.

  • To make windows on a truck

Use a pencil to draw windows on both sides of your truck’s cab. Then cut out holes for them with a hole punch if you have one or just use scissors if not! Use glue stick for this step because you want some permanence here so these don’t fall off easily when playing with it later!

  • Headlights and tail lights on your vehicle

Use whatever color paint is left over after painting it all white first (see below) but try not to add too much since we want this project done in under 10 minutes so try limiting yourself only going up about ¼ inch high before moving onto another part next time would probably work best!

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are a great way to promote your brand, company, or business.

Either use this as an opportunity to create a custom bookmark that can be used in an office environment or for personal use at home.

If you’re looking for something more permanent, then we’d recommend making these cute paper fan crafts for kids! They can be stored easily and will look amazing when they are unfolded by someone reading on the subway or bus.

Pennant Garland

You can make a paper fan garland to decorate your party or wedding reception.

Make sure the paper fans you use are large enough to be seen from a distance and that they differ in color and style. You can also arrange them in different ways so that they don’t look too uniform.

For example, you may want to put each kind of fan at the end of one string and then tie several pieces together with ribbon bows for added effect.

Fridge Magnets

Materials

  • Paper fans (we used colorful origami paper fans)
  • Craft glue, like Mod Podge or Elmer’s glue
  • Making the magnets.

Lay out your paper fan on a flat surface, and spread some craft glue onto it in any design you want. This can be as simple or complex as you want it to be—just remember that the more intricate your design, the longer it will take for the glue to dry!

Let your fan dry completely before moving on to step 4—this could take several hours depending on how thickly you applied your layer of craft glue and how big your fan is!

Cupcake Toppers

Cupcake toppers are a fun addition to any dessert table. These paper fans are easy to make, and kids can decorate them however they want!

Cut out a paper fan as directed above.

Fold the bottom edge up about 1 inch (2.5 cm) for every 3 inches (7.5 cm) or so of fan width, making sure that it is even with the top edge of your fan when folded up. Then fold over each side of this flap until they meet in the middle at an angle of 45 degrees and glue down if desired. This will form your base for holding onto while decorating with frosting later!

Decorate by gluing on sprinkles, candy jewels, or other edible decorations!

Flowers & Wall Decor

Flowers and wall decorations are a great way to decorate your home.

You can make flowers from paper, fabric, yarn, or ribbon. You can also make flowers with paint!

Christmas Tree Decoration

The Christmas tree decoration is a fun craft that can be made by kids and adults.

It is also a great craft for classrooms, churches, restaurants, and more.

This simple paper fan craft uses paint and inexpensive materials. The end result will look like this:

Paper Fan Wreath

How to make the wreath

Materials

  • 12 sheets of paper (any size)
  • glue or tape
  • scissors

Revolving Dance Fans

Do you know a dancer who would love to use a fan as a prop in her routine? This is an easy project that looks great on stage.

You can make this craft with just paper and glue. The finished product will look like two fans, but you can make it look like four fans if you want.

This is because each fan has two sides that are different colors, so when the craft is folded together, it makes four pieces of paper all stuck together!

Streamers & Party Fans

Here are some ideas for streamers and party fans.

Create streamers with a paper punch, or cut strips of colored paper.

Fold the streamer into a fan shape and glue it in place as you go along, securing two ends together at the same time to make one long piece of streamer (or use sticky tape).

Make a fan wreath by folding each edge of the streamer around itself so it forms an open circle when viewed from above – this will be your base ring shape for making your wreath! Secure each end of your base ring with tape or glue before continuing on to create more layers of folded material around it; keep adding until you reach desired thickness and width for your finished product
