Paper Plate Panda Craft

Trace your child’s face on a paper plate using a marker. Cut out the shape and glue it on a brown paper bag.

For the panda’s eyes, cut two black circles from construction paper and glue them onto white paper with some tape underneath to keep them in place while you trace around them with crayons or markers (or whatever other fun materials you want to use). You can also draw pupils or even little eyelashes!

Then write “I love pandas” in black sharpie above all three of these shapes, so that they look like they’re floating on top of this adorable panda’s head! Materials

A cherry tomato for the panda’s nose

A pencil for the panda’s body
Pom poms for the eyes
A fork for the ears (if you don’t have one, you can use a small stick instead)

For the eyes, insert a fork into the panda’s head and remove it. Use another fork to make two holes in both sides of each eye.

Insert the third fork through them and put it back into your panda’s head so that it is holding its eyelids in place.

To make the nose, cut out a small triangle from construction paper or cardstock using scissors or an X-ACTO knife (if you can do this safely). Cut slits for nostrils on either side of where you will attach it to your panda’s face with glue or tape.

Use pipe cleaners as limbs by threading them into small holes near where they would connect at joints—one arm should be bent upward while another should be bent downward with hands touching the chest area if possible; bend the tail upwards slightly if desired.*

Cut the paper roll in half and then cut that into two equal pieces. Put one piece of the rolled-up paper aside for later.
