7 Fun Activities For Kids Online

Keeping kids occupied can sometimes be a challenge, especially if you’re trying to keep them away from a screen.

It can also be difficult if you’re not sure what they should do while being isolated at home. That’s why I have put together a list of fun things for kids to do online, even if they don’t have access to the internet right now!

From painting with watercolors to virtual concerts and more – these activities will make your life easier as parents during these uncertain times

Painting Online

What could be more fun than painting? If you’re like me, the answer is nothing. Painting is a great activity for kids of all ages because it gives them the opportunity to express themselves creatively while also teaching them about color mixing, shading, and blending.

What’s more, it’s one of those activities that can be done over and over again without getting boring!

There are many online websites where you can find free images or upload your photos to use as templates for creating various masterpieces on canvas with acrylic paints or watercolors. Some sites even offer materials like brushes and paint cups so that children can work right away without having to buy their supplies upfront.

These sites vary greatly in terms of design quality but most will have some sort of tutorial walking users through step-by-step instructions on how best to complete their projects successfully (which helps parents who may need help too).

An Interactive Museum

If you want your kids to learn more about different topics, an interactive museum is a great place for them to start.

Online museums are fun and engaging because they can be so interactive. Kids can learn about different cultures and countries, science topics, historical topics, and much more!

Virtual Animal Encounters

Virtual animal encounters allow you to interact with animals from all over the world. You can feed and play with the animals, learn about their habitat and behavior.

This will help you understand how to best care for them in your home or backyard. It’s also a great way to learn about conservation efforts and how they help protect endangered species of animals.

Learn About The Species Of Animals And Their Habitat

The second section of this activity is really fun! You will get a chance to learn more about the different types of animals that exist on our planet today. This section has videos where kids can explore different habitats around the globe: forests, deserts, islands, etc… The videos feature real footage of these creatures interacting with each other (this includes fighting!!) which makes watching them even more interesting than just reading about it in an encyclopedia book!

A Virtual Concert

There are a lot of virtual concerts available online that you can enjoy with your kids. Here are some to check out.

  • For Kids.
  • The Big Apple Circus
  • Bronx Zoo Concerts – Explore the zoo with a live performance by various artists as your guide!
  • City Hall Park Summer Concert Series – Catch free shows on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays in July and August.
  • Central Park SummerStage at Rumsey Playfield (West Side) – Enjoy performances from up-and-coming artists in this beautiful setting at Rumsey Playfield on Fridays and Saturdays throughout June, July and August.
  • For Teens.

Design Your Own Space

There are endless possibilities when it comes to designing your own space. You can go for a minimalist look with clean lines and a neutral palette, or go for a more eclectic approach with bold colors and patterns.

It all depends on your style and what you want to create. If you’re not sure where to start, take a look at some home design magazines or search for inspiration online. Once you have an idea of what you want, start planning out your space. You’ll need to consider furniture, wall treatments, flooring, and accessories. Pay attention to the details and make sure everything comes together to create the perfect space for you.

Design Your Own Space is a game that allows you to create your own space in a virtual world. You choose the size, shape, and location of your room. The only limit is your imagination!

Magic Show with Deborah the Magic Lady

Magic shows are a lot of fun to watch. They’re also a great way to teach kids about the art of magic and its history.

A popular YouTube channel that has been around since 2007 is Deborah the Magic Lady, which features videos of famous magicians performing magic tricks for children.

Deborah is a magician herself, and she offers lessons on how to perform simple magic tricks at home. She has over 1 million subscribers on her channel, showing that people enjoy watching her content.

Yoga and Mindfulness with Cosmic Kids

Yoga and mindfulness can be fun for kids, but it’s easy to find yoga studios where they won’t feel comfortable.

The good news is that there’s an alternative: Cosmic Kids Yoga is a great place to learn how to do yoga and mindfulness with your child in a safe, non-religious environment.

You can help your child develop their yoga practice by following these simple steps:

Introduce them to the basic poses of yoga such as a downward dog or tree pose (click here for a beginner’s guide).

Encourage them to practice at home in between classes while they play on their own or with other children who love practicing together! If you’re feeling particularly ambitious, try doing some guided visualizations together; this one from the Cosmic Kids site helps kids become more mindful of their breath throughout the day.

Learn to keep your kids busy without having to go anywhere

You can do it from home, at work, at the library and even in a park.

I know this sounds too good to be true but there are plenty of educational games out there that will keep your child engaged while teaching them key skills.

In addition to being a safe place for kids to learn and play without having to go anywhere, you’ll also be able to track their progress as they take quizzes and earn badges. And best of all? It’s free!

Conclusion

In this article we’ve shared some of our favorite resources for keeping kids busy and engaged online. Each is a bit different but the thread that ties them together is that they are all safe, fun ways to explore new things from inside your own home.

We hope these links help you and your family pass the time while staying healthy and feeling connected until we can meet again in person! If you have any other internet activities that you have found helpful during quarantine, please share them in the comments section below so we can continue to share our knowledge! Until then, stay safe out there!
